New in SalesEdge.io: Clients Can Now Decline Documents with Feedback for Smarter Follow-Ups

August 27, 20252 min read

We’re excited to share a new update that gives you more clarity and control when sending out contracts or agreements. With this enhancement, your clients can now decline a document directly and let you know why — creating better communication and allowing you to take the right next step in your sales journey.

What's New

  • Clients can decline a document and provide feedback by selecting a reason or adding personalized notes.

  • “Declined” is now a status within your Documents & Contracts workflow — giving you full visibility.

  • You can use the Email Builder to include custom values like Decline Reasons (a summary) and Reason Body (detailed client notes) in follow-up emails.

  • Once declined, documents are moved to the “Archived” section and can no longer be signed.

  • Easily view a full history of who declined, when, and why — directly within your dashboard.

How It Works

Automations

Inside your Workflows, you can now create automations triggered by a document being declined. Just choose: Documents & Contracts → Status → Declined. This allows you to send follow-ups, assign tasks, or notify your team instantly based on client actions.

Email Templates

Send smarter responses with new custom values:

  • Document Decline Reasons: A list of selected reasons from the client

  • Document Decline Reasons Body: Free-form client feedback in their own words

Client Experience

Your clients can now choose to decline a document easily by clicking the top-right menu inside any document. They’ll be prompted to select reasons or leave notes explaining their decision — which is submitted and visible in your system.

Tracking Declined Documents

Visit the “Archived” section under Documents & Contracts to find all declined agreements. From there, select View History to see when the document was declined, by whom, and what feedback was provided.

Why This Matters

We built this feature so you can better understand why a deal didn’t move forward, improve your follow-up process, and keep your business running efficiently with smart automations. Gathering this kind of feedback helps you turn “no” into future opportunities — and reduces the guesswork in your client communications.
