Keep Your Existing Number for SMS: Effortless Hosting Now Live on SalesEdge.io

Great news for coaches and consultants! SalesEdge.io now allows you to host your existing US local or toll-free business number for SMS, so you can keep the number your clients already know while unlocking powerful texting capabilities—without interrupting your current voice provider.

What’s New?

With Hosted Numbers in SalesEdge.io, you can now use your familiar business number to send and receive SMS messages. This means greater continuity for your clients and no need to juggle multiple numbers for calls and texts. The setup process is simple and guided every step of the way.

  • Check if your US local or toll-free number is eligible for SMS hosting.
  • Quickly verify you own the number with an automated call.
  • Select or add your service address (where your number is registered).
  • E-sign an authorization letter for secure processing.
  • Track your request as it moves through verification, authorization, and final checks.
  • View all your hosted and in-progress numbers directly in your SalesEdge.io dashboard.

Understanding Hosted vs. SMS Ready

Once your number completes the hosting process in SalesEdge.io, it’s marked as “Hosted.” To start sending SMS, additional requirements may apply:

  • Identity and location verification (as needed by carriers or regulations)
  • Simple registration for A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging
  • Messaging sender setup for compliance

If your location is already approved for A2P messaging, SalesEdge.io will recognize this—you won’t need to register again for each hosted number. For toll-free numbers, a quick verification step is required. Voice calls will continue to run smoothly on your existing phone carrier throughout the entire process, so there’s no interruption to your business.

Who Can Use Hosted Numbers?

SalesEdge.io account owners and administrators can start and manage number hosting requests. Team members can view hosted numbers and the status of requests, while those with permission can help complete any required identity or messaging steps for your location.

How to Get Started

  1. Enable Hosted Numbers from the Labs section in SalesEdge.io.
  2. Navigate to Settings, then choose Phone System and Manage Numbers.
  3. Select "Add Number," then "Host a Number."
  4. Enter your US local or toll-free number and follow the easy guided setup.

You’ll be prompted through each step with clear instructions—no technical knowledge needed.
